The Witcher universe comes to life with Aretuza, a new official immersive experience in Spain
CD PROJEKT RED and Efimeral join forces to bring official The Witcher events to life — starting with Aretuza: School of Sorcery, an immersive multi-episode saga set in a castle in Spain. Registration is now open.
CD PROJEKT RED and Spanish creative studio Efimeral have signed an official partnership to bring the world of The Witcher to life through immersive experiences. The agreement grants Efimeral the exclusive license to organize official The Witcher events and live-action roleplay (LARP) in Spain, combining storytelling, immersion, and physical presence in a way that deepens players’ connection to the universe.
Efimeral’s flagship campaign, Aretuza: School of Sorcery, invites participants to step into the shoes of aspiring sorcerers during the foundation of the Chapter of Sorcerers and the creation of the first schools of magic. Over four days, players attend arcane lessons, navigate political intrigue, unravel ancient mysteries, and face monsters — both literal and symbolic — in a setting that explores the core themes of The Witcher: destiny, lesser evil, and difficult choices.
The upcoming chapter, Aretuza: The Awakening, will be the first international episode of the saga. It will take place from January 30 to February 2, 2026, in a medieval castle in La Seu d’Urgell, Catalonia. The event will be held entirely in English, welcoming participants from around the world.
Aretuza is not a one-time event, but the start of a multi-episode immersive campaign. Characters portrayed by participants evolve across episodes. It is a living story shaped by player choices — and one where they may interact with beloved characters, iconic locations, and terrifying monsters.
Only 80 spots are available. To participate, interested players must request an invitation by filling out an interest form. Sign-up opened on May 14.

This partnership is the result of a longstanding collaboration. Since 2020, Efimeral has produced fan-driven experiences inspired by The Witcher, originally supported by Holocubierta Ediciones — publishers of the official TRPG in Spain. Over the years, the studio has built a strong reputation for quality, inclusive design, and emotional storytelling, while remaining faithful to the original universe.
Recent projects include:
- Two sold-out Spanish editions of Aretuza in November 2025, with an average participant rating of 9.25/10.
- The Yule Mascarade, an official The Witcher immersive event celebrating the winter holidays and the release of the latest trailer.
- And nine editions of Something Ends, Something Begins, a political LARP inspired by The Witcher with the same outstanding response, and players from around the globe.
Through this collaboration, CD PROJEKT RED and Efimeral continue to explore new ways of engaging the community beyond the screen — supporting real-world experiences where fans can step into The Witcher universe and help shape it from within.
